Measured against the models it is built on

We run eulaw.ai against bare frontier models on identical questions, and publish the result.

Six tracks, from identifier lookups to a hundred-turn conversation. The bare comparison is pinned to the same model eulaw.ai generates with, so the difference is the retrieval, not the weights. A refusal counts as a failure: the question is whether you got an answer, not whether the model avoided one.

Why general AI is not enough

In law, accuracy is everything. General models invent legislation and case law that does not exist. eulaw.ai answers only from official databases, and links every claim straight to the paragraph.

• Verified against binding authority. General models blend law across jurisdictions; eulaw.ai retrieves only from verified sources.
• No invented cases. The classic failure is a citation to a case that never existed. Grounding every reference in a retrieved document prevents it.
• No knowledge cutoff. Law changes constantly, and a model cannot know a judgment handed down after it was trained. eulaw.ai can index one the day it is published.
• Jurisdiction control. Limit research to the European jurisdictions you choose, plus international instruments with legal weight in Europe.

Supporting research: the Oxford Academic study "Large Legal Fictions" found general models fabricate legal sources on a majority of legal queries, and Stanford HAI research confirms that retrieval-based legal tools sharply reduce errors against general models.

What it does

My Library

A private collection of your own files, contracts, client files and memos, that the AI can search and reason over, kept separate from the public legal knowledge base.

• Create and organise as many libraries as the work needs, and rename them inline.
• Add documents by drag and drop, or pull them from your existing folders.
• Live indexing. Each document shows its progress, so you always know what is ready to search.
• Custom instructions. Tell the AI how to treat each library, for example to cite the exact clause or flag unusual liability terms.
• Use them in chat. Select the libraries you want and retrieval is scoped to those documents.
• Private by default. Each library is its own private index, searchable only by you, only when you select it.

eulaw.ai runs in the browser, inside Word, and inside your AI assistant.

Microsoft Word

Select a clause and it is checked against the law that applies to it. Findings are highlighted in place, and a suggested rewrite applies as a tracked change you accept or reject like any other edit.

Claude, Claude Desktop and Cursor

A Model Context Protocol server gives your assistant cited legal search, document upload and analysis, and access to your folders and libraries, without leaving the tool you are already in.

Redlining in the app

Ask for a change to a document you are working on and you get a redline rather than a rewrite: each edit shown in place against the law it follows from, accepted or rejected one at a time or in bulk.
